Point-in-time recovery: rewind your database to any second
A nightly backup can lose a day of data. Point-in-time recovery (PITR) archives changes continuously, so you can rewind to just before the mistake.
What Da8a keeps
- A nightly backup, with an offsite copy kept for 30 days.
- On-demand backups you create before risky changes.
- Continuous change archiving, at most about five minutes behind.
- Restore to any second within the last 7 days.
Restore
Choose a moment in your project’s Backups section. The restore keeps the data it replaces on the server, so you can still inspect it afterwards.
Standby replica
On plans that include it, a second server streams a continuous copy and can be promoted if needed.
Good habits
- Create an on-demand backup before large migrations or imports.
- Keep your schema in version control.
- Practise a restore once, before you need it.
Questions
Is PITR included?
